      Dear all

I have set the DNS Resolution Behavior option as follows "Use remote DNS Servers, ignore local DNS". But pfSense still uses the local DNS server.

      What am I doing wrong?

      Thank you and best regards

I'm not 100% sure what you want to achieve here ...

I'm resolving "Public DNS IP's" via external servers (Company order).
And i have same setting as you in System --> General setup

But i also had to do this at the Unbound Resolver settings.

I still have all my clients ask pfSense for resolving , but now pfSense uses the "Foreign servers" defined , if resolving public ip's.

@bingo600 Thanks for the reply, that was exactly what I wanted. Now the DNS requests are forwarded to the regular DNS server. Thank you very much!
