      Hi there,

I am looking for some help. I have a Verizon FiOS internet connection (500 mbps) with a Verizon CR1000A router. Link of the router> (https://imgur.com/a/S5tuFzQ) I need help with netgate 1100 in my setup. I do not have TV or any other services except internet. I want to have netgate pfsense for safety reason.

How do I I connect it to my existing setup? I have attached the pictures link. I am hoping someone will help me in this.

      Thank You,
      Bal

@balsal7346 Plug the WAN port into your Verizon device.
Plug your network into the LAN port.

If the VZ device does wifi you will want to find an AP.

But I don't know anything about VZ ONT devices.

If you didn't want to use the CR1000A router, you could just plug the SG1100 directly into the ONT instead. You only need the Verizon router if you are using their TV service.

            netgate 1100

I know this is an old post, but wanted to provide my approach since I took an interest in pfsense only a couple of months ago.

I found a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf1sTkxxjLs&list=WL&index=2) that helped me convert the CR1000A into an access point.

I configured the pfsense software using https://www.youtube.com/@NaomiBrockwellTV

I plugged the ethernet cable from the ONT into the WAN port of the pfsense box.

I plugged to converted CR1000A into the a network switch.

I plugged the LAN port of pfsense into the switch.

This way the pfsense firewall is between the Internet and the CR1000A that acts as an AP for my wireless devices since I didn't want to spend any extra for a different AP.

I'm still on a steep learning curve for the pfsense software, but I have wired and wireless access to the Internet for most common activities.
