I just got bit by upgrade reboot in middle of important demo/ customer meeting. I want to setup automatic download and to always run upgrades, but , to do it only within given window.

Ex: Every Sunday 3am check and run upgrades

I looked into documentation https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/install/upgrade-guide.html but did not see this option.

@penguinpages pfSense Upgrades do not occur automatically. If your firewall rebooted as part of an upgrade it was done so by hand -- meaning a person had to initiate it.

You can create a CRON job, though, that could do it but it is not part of the core design of the software (nor was it, nor will it ever be).

          Hmm.

So the logic would be notification of pending upgrade but not to patch. Which I can live with, just need to write some IaC to now check.

          2.7.0-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Wed Jun 28 03:53:34 UTC 2023
          FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT

The system is on the latest version.
Version information updated at Mon Aug 14 13:24:04 EDT 2023

I read message wrong of upgrade date vs check in date.
And you are correct : Uptime shows 41 Days 21 Hours 11 Minutes 53 Seconds

But many of my home devices show loss of communication (hense correlation to Router). And my laptop reverted to APIPA.. Which implies not just lack of router, but some kind of request or cyle that triggered IP release but nobody was around to renew.

I will have to dig into this further to root cause.

Sounds like your switching hardware or wireless went down.
