      Hi there,

I've just picked up what I hoped was a 4100 base model here in the UK from IT&G. They seem to be an official reseller. However, both the box and unit seem to have the model number "4100-S" with the "-S" redacted using black marker. I can't find any information online about such a model. The anti-static bag wasn't sealed and the casework has signs of the same black marker pen on it. It also has no rubber feet that are shown in the user manual.

Anyone have any clue what model this is? Or what is different from the base model?

      Shareef.

4100-S is what the internal name for the 4100-MAX so it would be correct that it's marked out on a base model.

I believe it was actually called "4100-S[teve]" but @stephenw10 is too humble to tell the world he got a model named for him :)

So they've bought a load of 4100 Max models, opened up the boxes and ripped out the upgraded NVM drives? Sounds legit. 🙄

Send me the NDI in chat and I'll check what it is in our records.
