Is pfSense Home+Lab the same as the free pfSense+ version?
-
Some months (?) ago I changed from pfSense CE to pfSense+ with a free available code from Netgate. Now I've read this news:
https://www.netgate.com/blog/addressing-changes-to-pfsense-plus-homelab
Addressing Changes to pfSense Plus Home+Lab"Today, we are announcing that the Home+Lab version of pfSense Plus, the commercial fork of the popular open-source firewall pfSense, is no longer available for free download"
I don't get it - is Home+Lab the pfSense+ that I got for free?
This is what it says in the webinterface of my installation:

Yes, it's the same version.

@stephenw10 sad to hear that, but ok, at least I know it now. I always thought that pfSense CE would be disontinued in favor of pfSense+ home? Is pfSense CE regularly patched? When was the last release? Couldn't find a date on the download page. Also is there a "downgrade" way from pfSense+ Home to pfSense CE?

2.7 was released in June. See: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/releases/versions.html
Currently the config version in 2.7 is the same as in Plus 22.05.1 so you can install 2.7 and import the config again.
Downgrading directly is not supported at this time.
