      Hello,

I can't find the information easily, but is version 2.6.x of pfsense CE still maintained or should I consider it as EoL ?

      Thanks

Very first link here : netgate pfsense versions

or look here : Netgate Blog pfSense

2.6.x is maintained. That is : you should do your part of the job : upgrade to the newer version, which is 2.7.0 and 2.7.1 very soon.

Edit : and where are the logs ??

          Hi,

          Thank you for the feedback.

I had already searched in google but I couldn't find any clear official article like this:
          https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/exchange-server-2016

I didn't know the blog, thank you, it looks interesting, I'll look to see if I can find the information there.

I agree with your recommendation about upgrading to 2.7.x.
I am also now trying to find out what the date of EoL of CE 2.6.x, because this can give something to announce a deadline at which we will no longer have the choice but to upgrade to the higher version.

          THANKS

I missed information that was simple and in front of my eyes...

I'm still looking for the date of EoL CE 2.6.x if anyone knows where I can find it :)

            Thanks

@mc-gyver-reboot I don't think they publish dates, I think it's "current and previous" with point releases like 2.7.1 not counting. So until 2.8 is out.

Now what "supported" means is a different question...packages can be installed if one chooses the "previous stable" update branch. Netgate has released security updates via the System Patches package for PHP fixes. I do not really recall them ever going back and releasing a "2.6.1" point release update with binary code changes, after the 2.7 version is out.

I would guess supported (also??) means, if you have a support contract you can ask TAC a question but they will only help for 2.6 and 2.7...?

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

In this case the point release actually includes quite a lot. I would personally consider 2.6 as unsupported now that 2.7.1 is released. 2.6 is now old. The version of FreeBSD it's built on is EoL.

@stephenw10 Is 2.7.0 “previous stable” now? I was just looking at the list in the docs which I think was before 2.7.1? Anyway, don’t stay too old!

@Gertjan I’m aware 2.7.1 is out now; I was just wondering out loud if it was its own branch. We don’t have a CE to look at anymore.

For all the “why isn’t CE being updated” threads it’s interesting/amusing to find one wanting to stay on 2.6. ;)

It is a separate branch, yes.

                          Hi,
Since version 2.7.1 was released, version 2.6.0 has passed EoL, which gives me some indication of the product life cycle.
In any case I understand that the right strategy is to move towards 2.7.1.
