pfSense 2.7.1 & new DHCP service
-
I was surprised that the upgrade this AM went as smoothly as it did. Moved from my t620+ ThinClient to ProxMox VM - no issues. woo hoo!!
Then upgraded to 2.7.1 - as it was indicated as new 'stable' version. That also went smoothly, after I made the change the new KEA DHCP. Retained all my old reservations, too.
I would love to make a suggestion - unless someone knows how I can change them. Is there a way to make the DOWN ARROWS (see image) - RED? The UP ARROWS are GREEN, only make sense that DOWN be RED (so they jump out at you).
Thanks to the guys at NETGATE for all the hard work making sure that the upgrade was painless.

That's in one of the dark themes?
In the default theme the down arrows are black. I think that is a deliberate choice because seeing that isn't necessarily a problem. It only means the ARP entry has expired which could simply be that the host hasn't sent any traffic for a while. A red arrow looks like an error when it may not be.
But you can open a feature request here: https://redmine.pfsense.org/

Marking them red would be unnecessarily confusing. As @stephenw10 said it isn't an error condition/state.
It isn't something to worry about or take action to correct, it's "undetermined", more or less. The firewall has no way to tell if it's up or down when it's in that state, all it knows is that it hasn't seen any traffic to/from that host pass through the firewall in a while.

It does not have be RED (since everyone seems to think that RED=ERROR). Could be Blue, or Purple, or Orange or Yellow. I asked, because the white/gray is same color as the 'head/person' and it just make sense - you have a GREEN UP ARROW for active - that INACTIVE (yet present "reservation" is in another color as well).

Colors should convey some kind of meaning. Choosing a random color just to have it be a color seems like a bad idea.
The grey color already has a well-known intended meaning of something being inactive/disabled. I don't see the need to change it.
