On your official site, the Netgate 8200 product pages specify the Ethernet ports it has. This is a copy from the page:

      Physical Network I/O ports

      (2) 10 Gbps SFP+ WAN ports
      (2) Auto media detect 1 Gbps (RJ45 copper / SFP fiber) combo WAN ports
      (4) 2.5 Gbps RJ-45 "direct" (unswitched) ethernet (LAN) Intel i226 ports

My question is: the first 2 categories are limited to WAN ports? If so, how is possible to report more than 18Gbps routing and firewall performance? So there is a limitation in pfSense plus running on this specific 8200 model in choosing the WAN/LAN ports?

If all the ports are independent (of course the combo groups have only one type active at a time) and can be used free in the appliance configuration, please answer me clearly.

Yes, the ports can be assigned and used however you wish. They are just labelled WANx LANx on the enclosure.
