    Dashboard still shows old version

      I have a Netgate 1100 and now i upgraded from "23.05.1-RELEASE (arm64)" to version 23.09
      Upgrade went fine, what it looks like, but dashboard still says there is an update (23.09) and that the current version is 23.05.1-RELEASE (arm64).
      If i go to the update page, it says that current base version is 23.09 and that current stable is 23.09 and status is Up to date.

      This is of course a minor thing but a bit annoying since the light is flashing on the 1100 and this way i can not just look at it to see if a new version is available.

      Any way way of fixing this?
      Yes, i did a reboot, no change with that.

        Check what actually upgraded. Try running at the CLI: pkg-static info -x pfsense

        See what still shows as 23.05.1. At least the pfSense meta pkg will still show as that since that's what the dashboard is checking.

          @stephenw10 Now i also get 502 error when logging in, but i could reach a sub page at least.

            At the CLI try running pkg-static upgrade and see what, if any, upgrades it offers you.

            You can probably just accept those upgrades to reach 23.09 However make sure you have a config backup first in case you need to reinstall for any reason.

              @stephenw10 Can this be done from the gui in a reasonable safe way or do i have to connect console cable? (i did the check with both your commands in the GUI command interface).
              For instance, if i run "Reinstall packages" on diag_backup.php page, does it fetch the new one or just the same version?

                  Ok great so it sees the upgrades and can install them. I would expect to be able to install those and end up at a full 23.09 install.

                  I would want to do that from the actual CLI though not via the gui command prompt. So either using the console directly or via SSH.

                  I would also be ready to reinstall if required because this is outside the usual upgrade process.

                  However we have seen a number of systems complete the upgrade successfully exactly like this.

                          Update:
                          Upgrade did not work. A lot of errors when i listed the packages.

                          Reinstalled worked. Recover config did not work what it looked like but i had config saved so restored config and it worked.
