Does the latest pfSense support HP 561FLR-T dual 10GB Ethernet (based on Intel X540 chipset)

Hi,
I am going to upgrade my network cards from 1GB to 10GB using the HP dual port 10GB Ethernet card.

Before I buy this card, I would like to know whether this card still have compatibility problem?

I would expect an X540 based NIC to work fine. I'm not aware of whatever the issue was that user was hitting back in 2017 but that was while ago now anyway.
However without access to that hardware specifically I can't test it to be sure.

The last forum user replied back in 2017 had an issue with slow speed.
After some digging with Google, it looks like the card has no issue, the only issue is this card based on Intel X540-T2 chipset,
is that it does not support multi-gigabit speed, it only supports speeds either 1Gb or 10Gb. So there's is nothing in between.
For example it does NOT support speed like: 2.5Gb which is becoming the standard NIC speed for wifi routers and NAS units.That could be the reason why if you connect a 2.5Gb NIC from your desktop PC to a X540-T2 10Gb port, you won't see
transfer speed up around or close to 2.5Gb/sec. It would limit to 1Gbps.Anyway that is my assumption.
Not sure why it does not state it supports: 100mbps, according to Intel spec, it does supports 100mbps speed.I think the best solution is to get a X550-T2 which support multi-gigabit speed

Yes, only the x550 supports N-baseT like that.
