      Good evening (well, here it is evening anyway)

      Scenario: update 2.7.0
      first backup config
      then delete all packages
      reboot
      to my surprise: version 2.7.0 is reported current version, no update possible

      then trying to reinstall packages
      fails because package manager requires new php version which is part of new pfsense version (which one I now ask myself)

      Before completely getting lost: what can I do now to either revert to my formerly functioning 2.7.0 with the packages I had installed
      OR
      update to 2.7.1 or 2.7.2 plus said packages

      Thanks in advance for any suggestions

        @oever Try this
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/releases/2-7-1.html#troubleshooting
        and/or
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/upgrades.html#upgrade-not-offered-library-errors

        Never upgrade packages for a version you're not on. And yes I realize it's confusing if "current" doesn't list the current number. They added the PHP check to help prevent people from breaking their install.

        Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          Thanks, the first was spot-on. Unfortunately, updating now fails with the EFI-space-problem - on a 500G SSD, yeah sure. However, I reinstalled all my 2.7.0 packages an the FW works again (at 2.7.0). The EFI-problem will have to wait for another day. Thanks for a non-sleepless night :).
