      Hi Team,

I have a new internet connection which uses PPPoE Connection to my fibre connection. This for some reason means that when pfsense reboots it seams to drop all the configuration data for the interfaces and I am unable to select the PPPoE connection to re-assign the interface. Has anyone else run into this issue?

      Regards,
      Tom

@tompark said in PPoE as WAN drops all config on reboot:

It actually removes the configured interface?

What does the config history show?

What pfSense version are you using?

        Steve

          Hi Steve,

Im using pfSense 2.7.0 (upgraded to 2.7.2 today).

So when it reboots is as if the WAN and LAN interfaces havent been setup (pre-config).

My LAN interface is a Trunk Port which I'm wondering if this is part of the issue. The WAN interdace is a VLAN tagged interface as per my ISP's requirement. I also tried woth untagged (through a switch with handled the tagging) same issue.

I am out tonight but will check the config history later. Ididnt see anything last time I looked but will check again. I might build a virtual pfsense and see if I cam replicate it.

          Clearly this shouldnt happen 😀.

Ill post back more details later.

Ah, you mean it stops at the interfaces assign screen during boot?

That should only happen if a configured interface is not present for some reason.

When it's booted and configured what interfaces do you have assigned?
