Wan and Lan IP issues
-
Hi Netgate and Forum Users,
I have recently tried to utilize PFsense as a Windows Hypervisor and followed some guides and youtube videos but I'm not having the outcome I expect.I have purchased a dual nic card with a cable from my Modem/Router into my the first port of the nic card and then the 2nd port is going to my Dell Poweredge's IDRAC. I was able to have internet access when I bridged the two ethernet ports but that's not ideal as I require setting up a few port forwards. I have created the Wan Virtual Switch and the LAN virtual switch within hypervisor. Wan is set to Port 1, Lan set to port 2. PFsense is setup and is showing me two IPs for the respective Wan and Lan. These IPs are unfortunately different than those I see in my Windows Network and Sharing Center. This is where I'm confused as the ability to put in the static IP of my IDRAC is not working. I have not configured any additional subnets nor VLANS. WAN is showing the normal network range of 192.168.0.X and the LAN is showing the network of 192.168.1.X
When I look into my Cox WiFi app for port forwarding it still shows my computer as on the old motherboard ethernet port with the static IP even when I disconnected that cable. Is it as simple as the LAN is now on a private network under the 192.168.1.X range and I just need to reconfigure the static IPs? I was hoping to keep the LAN on the same 192.168.0.X range.
