Remove Orphan Package Entry
-
Hey guys,
This is more of an OCD issue than it is a functional issue with PfSense. However I installed the "BandwidthD" package and noted it was not working, so I removed the package but it seems to have left Orphan entries in the "Services" menu and "Service Status" widget.
I did a reboot of the Firewall to see if that would clear the entries, but to no avail.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
P -
@panzerscope First thing would be to reinstall it, then try to remove again.
If that doesn't work, and no one else chimes in with a better suggestion, you can download a backup config, edit it and remove all BandwidthD entries, then restore it. -
I just took a look at my config and noticed it still lists Suricata, though uninstalled and not listed in
<installedpackages>
The first line is
<forcekeepsettings>on</forcekeepsettings>
Is that available in BandwidthD, too? Never used it.

@Jarhead Thanks for the suggestion, re-installing and then immediately removing it seems to have cleared out the incorrect entries :)

@panzerscope I had to go back to a previous configuration. I know I could have edited the config file, but I had a recent config and that fixed t he problem. I did have success in the past with a reinstall, but it doesn't always work.
