I currently have my Cyberpower UPS connected to the UPS port of my Synology NAS because Synology makes it easy to run their included network UPS server to shutdown other network devices. I configured Pfsense to connect to a Remote NUT server and it connects to the Synology...I can see the UPS info in Pfsense. Seems to work OK.

However, I'd rather have the UPS connected to Pfsense but I have no idea how to configure NUT in Pfsense to be a NUT server to shutdown the Synology NAS. I can connect the UPS USB cable to Pfsense and if I configure NUT as Local USB it connects perfectly but I do not see how to have NUT act as a server to shutdown the Synology. If I set the Synology as a SNMP UPS, then it wants an IP address (of Pfsense I assume) and a SNMP Community but I have no idea what that is.

Anyone, maybe @dennypage , have any instructions, examples, screenshots I can follow to configure Pfsense as the UPS network server??

@jeff3820 See Notes on remote access to NUT in the second post of the NUT support thread, and the section Notes on Synology at the end of the post.
