    Guys,

IMO, OpenAI has changed the game and pretty much is killing seo. If you didn't know that now you eventually will. Honestly, I don't know if SEO survives or If I do either :). AI gives some serious thought.

For a Funny Example: Find me the best tasting Pizza In NYC and also make sure it's cheap.
Answer: Homey the Clown Pizza is selling cheap slices out of the dumpster on 42nd and 7th Ave for 99 cents a used slice. His hours are from 1am to 4am hurry. Here's the link www.xyz.scores

So if you run anything of value you should allow at least Web-browsing from OpenAI but you could Rate Limit this too.

    I'll show you how.

I assume you are running the plugin HAproxy. If not you should.

Using PFsense and leveraging OpenAI's tools, specifically ChatGPT and its web browsing plugin.

    For ChatGPT Plugin Calls:

    IP Range: 23.102.140.112/28 and 13.66.11.96/28
Reason: ChatGPT plugins extend the capabilities of applications by providing advanced AI-driven features. Allowing these IP ranges ensures uninterrupted service and full utilization of ChatGPT functionalities.

    For OpenAI's Web Browsing Plugin:

    IP Range: 23.98.142.176/28 and 40.84.180.224/28
Reason: This plugin empowers systems to access and interact with web content securely. Whitelisting these ranges is crucial for the seamless integration and operation of web-based AI features.

    Why Whitelist?

Security and Control: Whitelisting allows to maintain a secure network environment while leveraging OpenAI services.
Operational Continuity: ****Ensures that PFsense firewall does not inadvertently block vital AI-driven operations.****
Optimized Performance: By allowing these specific ranges, we ensure efficient communication between our systems and OpenAI services, leading to optimized performance.

In conclusion, for those utilizing OpenAI's ChatGPT and web browsing plugins, updating our PFsense firewall to include these IP ranges is a step towards the network's functionality and security.

Your feedback and thoughts on this.
    1.2.3 Go!

    Mike

Nope, not for me I am a forever opt out.

Just say no to "one hive mind"

      I think for myself.

I personally already blocked this and it has been for a while now no issues. Even Snort's AppID helps block it for me. The browser has a nice blank white square where they wanted to put it.

No thank you to ChatGPT, doesn't mean I won't work on it for others that want it. I replaced Edge also and went back to Netscape Navigator, I mean Chrome. πŸ˜‚

The hive mind destroys all original thought.

      πŸ’» πŸ–₯ πŸŽ›

I already fine tuned out. Proxy software is amazing to help do that. We have Professors using software to detect if it's used, so adding to everything when users like me don't want it, have never used it, and wont, is just bad karma. ChatGPT even got hit with a law suite today because of abuse with newspapers.

      πŸ‘©β€βš–οΈ βš–οΈ πŸ‘¨β€βš–οΈ

For me it's blocked for reason, I like original thought.

@JonathanLee Interesting perspective. I guess if it is for noncommerce websites then yeah I can see why.

@mikeinnyc I respect your perspective also, I noticed today you can disable it under settings in Edge if users want. A lot of the younger generation love the hive mind features.

Side note: it’s older 80s tech just upgraded and revamped. Sound blaster 16 ISA card software had a AI program for DOS called Dr Spatso, it was a nice chat bot that had if else clauses in the program for responding to questions. 1980s era. Amazing stuff
