      Hello all,

      any help would be appreciated - I am unable to install packages

      Netgate 6100
      23.05.1-RELEASE

      unable to install additional packages

      System Log:

      /pkg_mgr.php: The command '/usr/local/sbin/pfSense-repo-setup' returned exit code '1', the output was 'cp: /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/pfSense.conf: No such file or directory pkg-static: Unable to open '/usr/local/etc/pkg/repos//pfSense.conf':No such file or directory failed to read the repo data. failed to update the repository settings!!!'

      From the command line - I can see the file in question is a symlink
      /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/pfSense.conf -> /usr/local/etc/pfSense/pkg/repos/pfSense-repo-23_09_rel.conf

      and the target file is missing - here is the directory listing in question.

      [23.05.1-RELEASE][root@xxxxxx.localdomain]/usr/local/etc/pfSense/pkg/repos: ls -l /usr/local/etc/pfSense/pkg/repos/
      total 31

            hi everybody.

            One quick question: as it is written multiple times that only pfsense plus is intended to be used in the azure or aws cloud. my question regarding this fact: is it possible to still setup your own vm with your own pfsense image (via the vhd upload to blob method) in azure and then turn it into an pfsense plus afterwards by entering the license you can buy for 129 dollar a year on the netgate website? i ask this because the pfsense plus image in the azure cloud cost a lot more: it cost 0.08 dollar per hour so it would cost around 700,80€ a year for just that image compared to 129 for a equaly funtional pfsense plus subscription. i just ask before i buy the license and then cannot use it for something else if i cannot use it with the azure pfsense in the end.

            thx a lot for all infos and comments. have a nice day.
            greetings zetti

              That seems like the total cost for the Azure instance vs just the subscription cost for Plus? You'd still need to pay the instance running cost on top of the subscription.

              However that is not supported.

                @stephenw10 hi. no this cost what i said is just he monthly cost of the image not of the machine or disks or anything related to that. the machine costs come on top but are the same in both variants (self installed and installed from the official pfsense plus image inside of azure)

                  Hmm, well it's unsupported. I expect that to fail.
