      Hi,

Does anyone know if it should be possible to update the Coreboot of an XG-2758, currently we have 2 units that run on coreboot 01.00.00.09 and according to the Netgate Firmware Upgrade there is an update available to 01.00.00.18. But when I try the update I get only the following error lines.

Failed to read flash data, exiting ...
      Updating flashing ...

A cold boot does not help, we are running PFSense version 23.09.1 and Netgate Firmware Upgrade version 23.05.00.

      Regards,
      Maurice

The XG-2758 has been EoL for some time, though it still runs the current version.

The Coreboot required a special workaround that is not in current versions which is why it's failing like that. To update Coreboot you will need to reinstall an older version of pfSense that included a compatible updater. Open a ticket with TAC to discuss:

@stephenw10 Can I open a case for this without a support contract, or do I need a support contract for this?

Nope you can always open a ticket for firmware requests like that.
