Hi, I purchased a netgate 8200 max and had issues when trying to use at my clients office. The isp router's duplex settings was set to automatic however, the nategate states that this needs to be set. is there any way around this ?

      Thanks
      Gav

It should link if it's set to auto-negotiate. Can I assume it is not linking? What is the ISP device?

@stephenw10 I thought it would, but spent all night trying to get this to work and I can see that it does state on the manual that it has to be a set speed for this model.
The isp is using a cisco router, cant remember the exact model and I am not on site. We have asked the ISP to change their settings but looks like it will be weeks before they will come out.

            Where are you seeing that...?

            https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/netgate-8200/io-ports.html#networking-ports
"The igc(4) and ix(4) network interfaces on this device do not support fixed speed operation. ...
When connecting different devices to these interfaces the peer should typically be set to autonegotiate, not to a specific speed or duplex value. "

            (my bolding)

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

              Yeah it must be auto-negotiated.

Which NIC are you trying to use?

Do you know what the ISP device is set to? Was it previously connected to something else?
