      Good morning to everybody:
I have an HP Proliant LM110 computer, and inside the server, there is the installed:

      2.4.3-RELEASE-p1 (amd64)
built on Thu May 10 15:02:52 CDT 2018
      FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p10

      pfSense
      Serial: MX284301ED
      Netgate Device ID: 8890ecd38889e13c4745

I enter the PACKAGES MANAGER and I want to see the available Packages, but it shows me the error:

      Unable to retrieve package information

Any idea what could be happening?

      Expect your news.

      Regards.
      Flielguera

Try running at the command line: pkg-static -d update
        What error is shown?

2.4.3 is very old. You should upgrade as soon as possible.

        Steve

Ok it's failing retrieve pkgs because it's switched to the 2.5 repo when that was release. Years ago!

If you need to remain on 2.4.3 and install pkgs you need to set the update repo to 2.4.3 reprecated in System > Updates > Update Settings.

But you should consider just installing 2.7.2 clean and restoring your config at this point.

            Steve

@stephenw10 Ok Steve, but please excuse my ignorance, I come from the Windows / Cisco world, I ask, what commands can I use to update the version of PFSENSE...?
              Thanks for your help.

It's seeing the 2.5 version. You should normally see that as an available upgrade on the dashboard. If that has been disabled you would need to visit System > Updates.

But from such an old version you should consider installing 2.7.2 clean and restoring your config.
