Restore Config to Different Hardware

Hi,

We have a Netgate 1541 as our primary firewall. I want to restore the config from the 1541 to an older SG-3100 as a backup in case of hardware failure. Due to the differece in hardware (specifically interfaces) is there anything I need to consider or will it be as simmple as just restoing the xml?

If you only have 3 interfaces defined on the 1541 you can restore that to the 3100 and just re-assign the interfaces.

If you have more than that defined you would need to add VLANs and switch config to the 3100 to allow separated ports. we can convert that config for you if you open a ticket:
