      Hi all

I have a fairly new SG1100 on 23.05, and decided to try and update to 23.09 this morning.

The update process seemed to go through without anything looking wrong - it was downloading lots of things and then said the router would restart. The restart took several minutes - and once I logged back in to the web portal the Status / Dashboard shows Version as 23.05 still, and says 23.09 is available?!

I clicked on the cloud/download icon just next to where is says Version 23.09 is available - that goes to System / Update / System Update and that shows Current Base System is 23.09, Latest Base System 23.09, Status "Up to date"

So - one part says I'm still on 23.05 and the other says it was updated?!

Any suggestions on what to try next? the firewall seems to be working - including the IPSec and OpenVPN I have defined.

      thanks in advance!

      Jonathan

@JonathanHartCIS I’ve seen a few posts like this in recent months about 1100s…look through (the many) posts by stephenw10 for a command to run. Pretty sure one was a few days ago.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Thanks - I'll give some of those a try.

I have the luxury of 2 SG1100's, so I may switch over live to my backup router - then see if I can find a way to connect the one with a problem to the internet but in such as way that it doesn't conflict - then I can poke around without breaking things for the other users in my office!

Generally in that situation you can just run pkg-static upgrade and accept the offered upgrades to complete the process.

Be sure to have a config backup though.

Just an update - I swapped out the router last night, moved the main router to my desk with the intention of booting it up isolated and connected only to my laptop - but it failed to boot!

Luckily I still had the recovery USB handy - so I just did a usb recovery and restored the config....so I guess that is one way to upgrade ;)

                thanks again for the suggestions.
