BUG? - 2.7.* IGMP issues with spanish imagenio TV deployment
-
I have a 2.6.0 install (proxmox VM) where I am running the spanish well known three VLAN movistar configuration. This is a typical setup to replace the provider's router with another one to improve performance and features. In my case everything work fine under 2.6.0: I have internet at full speed, I have phone, both analog and IP (VoIP), and I have full featured TV, called 'imagenio' here. When I say 'full featured' I mean not only the standard channels but also the V.O.D., recordings, last 7 days, fast-revers, fast-forward, PiP, I can search, I can record what I want and view the recordings later, etc. ALL. I am very happy with this.
For that I need (amongst some other details) both RIP, accomplished by the use of FRR (thanks to the FRR developers for adding RIP as the previous verions did not supported it) and the included IGMP proxy.
But all this TV joy goes down just by updating to 2.7.0, 2.7.1 or 2.7.2. The TV channels freeze at about 10 seconds after you select them. But not always and not for all channels. Sometimes a channel that was working fails if you move to another channel and then get back. It is impossible to watch TV.
But if you go to the IGMP proxy service, disable it, enable it again and save changes all resume to normal until next time. It looks like it got 'saturated' somehow and needed a cleansing.
As the only thing that I do is to update I suppose that this must be a bug somewhere in those version.
Anyone has suffered the same? Any ideas on how to debug this?
As the pfsense is virtualized in proxmox, it is very easy for me to shut-down the working device, restore a backup, check that all works fine and then update and try whatever ideas you can imagine.
Thanks for your time.
Kind regards. -
Try starting igmpproxy in verbose mode at the CLI amd see what's shown when it fails. Compare that to what's shown in 2.6.
