PF Sense install disk installing my current working config on install...
-
I am looking for information on how to make a USB thumb drive that will install PF sense. I'd like to put my config.xml in the install media so when it is installed the boot up will come right up with the current configuration we use.
The purpose of this is the PF Sense is in a mobile trailer and the server sometimes vibrates and causes failures in the PF Sense. For ease of restoration with the technician on site who typically as not well versed as I am in the technical aspects of things, I want them to just put the install media in the server, hit enter several times, let the process complete, pull media, reboot and be back up and running how it was previously configured.
I know this is possible as I have seen first hand someone else do it, but it is a former employer boss that knew how to do it and I don't think I have the relationship to ask him how to do it for my new company.

The installer image contains a FAT32 partition for exactly this purpose. See:
