      Hi everyone!

      Any help is appreciated, and let me know if I can provide any more info!

      First off, I am new to a lot of networking concepts and still very much learning so hopefully my terminology is correct in this post. I have followed a number of guides (including pfsense's) and still no luck so something funky is going on here (or I am just missing something silly) :/

      Trying to get minecraft and palworld server working externally. This question is mainly about the minecraft rules because I should be able to duplicate the setup for other game servers running off the same machine pretty easily.

      Context
      First off, the game server(s) work on my LAN network going from:
      192.168.1.15 -> 192.168.20.10:25565 (minecraft)
      192.168.1.15 -> 192.168.20.10:8211 (palworld)

      Problem:
      The game servers do NOT work when accessing from the open internet

      My Goal:
      ONT -> WAN (public ip)-> VLAN20 -> Game Server (192.168.20.10:25565)

      Setup:
      VLAN is on its own port on the router, it does not go through any switches. It goes:
      ONT -> WAN -> VLAN20 (OPT1 port on router) -> VM Host Machine -> Game Server.

      NAT port-forwarding/rules/vlans

      For trouble shooting I am just allowing everything both ways for my 'external servers' but the idea is to lock this down to not allow these external servers to be able to talk to my other lan/internalpc's network.

      Checked the port here:

      For some reason this one says closed??

      Interface list if it matters....

        I didn't change anything and today went to sanity check some things. Tried logging into the servers to see if pfsense had any logs relating to it and they both just work now?? Anyone know why?? I'm very confused :/
