      Hi all,

First of all - I've been using an SG-3100 for many years now and am truly happy with it. Recently the device started misbehaving and reinstalled it using this documentation page here:

While following the instructions (which I had printed out) and installing on the emmc (which was suggested as default), I ended up with a "can't read ubldr.bin" at the reboot. Was panicking and tried a few times.
Eventually, I tried the M.2 instead (ada0) and boom - back in business...

As I had purchased the device many years ago I had no idea whether my system came with an M.2 or not so only by giving it a try have I now found out it has it :-)

My suggestion -> in that document (linked above), I would add a step at the beginning (something I now found in another documentation page here):

"printenv bootcmd" -> this will print the device that's being used to boot at the end of the output, either 'emcboot' or 'm2boot'

It may help others in the future.

      Thanks,
      Bernard.

ps. this may be applicable to other devices as well, not sure.

@bdeprez on the top right of each doc page is a Feedback link that creates an issue for Netgate devs to follow up on. :) yours seems a reasonable suggestion.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
