Errors(?) on bootup and constant errors with nvme
-
Every time the pfSense boots up, I get the error message: "[(fib_algo)] inet.0 (bsearch4#20) rebuild_fd_flm: switching algo to radix4_lockless
This error only happens upon startup. After a while, I keep getting the following:
nvme0: RECOVERY_STAR 29192173584361 vs 29191138505493
nvme0: timeout with nothing complete, resetting
nvme0: Resetting controller due to a timeout.
nvme0: RECOVERY_WAITING
nvme0: resetting controller
nvme0: aborting outstanding i/o
nvme0: resubmitting queued i/o
nvme0: WRITE sqid:1 cid:0 nsid:1 lba:239629400 len:8
nvme0: done resubmitting i/oThe block of logs above repeats itself. If I come back after a few hours, the whole screen is filled with the block of logs above.
There doesn't seem to be an interruption in the network or internet. Just bothers me that this keeps appearing and it looks to be something with the SSD.This started happening after I tried swapping my original Intel 1G NIC to an FS.com Intel 10G NIC.
I switched the hardware back and even fully reset the pfSense back to factory defaults and re-setup my network, but I'm still getting these errors. All of the power saving settings in the BIOS have been turned off (I had issues with the SSD the first time I set this up - the SSD kept basically going inactive), and BIOS settings haven't been changed from when everything was working with no errors.
I also have no idea what these errors mean, so I'd really appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction!
I really just needed basic routing and VLANs... about to pull my hair out and just go buy UniFi gear so it just works out of the box... -
The errors by themselves don't give any clues.
So :
What pfSense version ,
What FreeBSD version ?
What is the ID / brand / type of de disk (nvme)Tell us more about the device you're using.

Not sure.
The same rules applies : if software is run on bad hardware you'll have the same result. -
@pnadd said in Errors(?) on bootup and constant errors with nvme:
fib_algo
That error is harmless.
If the issue started happening after installing a new PCIe device and you're using an NVMe drive then I'd suspect some low level PCIe issue. Probably nothing you can do about that in pfSense if so.
