      Good evening
      Having endless problems tying to force the dns be the one set in general settings
      Still getting Comcast servers for everything
      I have 2 vlans one for Nordvpn and other clear to Comcast - only really use the vlans lan is just to connect to the interface

      Using DNS Reslover snd Forwader

      All changes I’ve tried killed the connection (running 2.6.0 as recently every time I attempt update I’ve got to go back as something gets broken snd I can’t spend days trying to fix it)
      I just need some suggestions from someone who knows what goes on - I’m not up to speed on it snd it was years ago that I built the system
      Thanks in advance

        Basically this DNS servers are uses by pfSense itself.

        Not clear, what you exactly want to achieve. If it is to forward requests to a certain public DNS server over NordVPN, you might fail as NordVPN obviously blocks this newly as others complain in this thread: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/186580/dns-suddenly-broken-on-some-vlans

        So you can use a different public server for the NordVPN VLAN though by forwarding request to it, but you have to go out on WAN and accept DNS leaks then.

          @viragomann
          Thanks for that!
          Been struggling with the Nord setup for days now - hadn’t used this system in a year
          and after nords forced change of password and username - the vlan VPN stopped working - openvpn was connected but probably having a dns issue

          Finally got it working - except for the correct dns server - like everyone else - I found the Nord support- not very supportive.

          All I required is that the Nord VLAN to use the Nord DNS as set in the general settings (but any changes I made to fix it just stopped it working )
          I just get Comcast dns responding Nord is ignored.
          So nowhere near a solution
          Thanks for the link
