pfsense connect to unify express

Hi, I'm a newbie to pfsense, and just got an Unifi Express, what I have done now is connect Verizon Internet to pfsense and to Unify Express, now Unifi only works as an AP and the router function is offline, can I configure a wan line from pfsense and connect to the Unifi Wan then use it as the main router with wifi? thanks in advance for your help

Unclear exactly what you want to achieve. You want both pfSense and the Unifi device to connect to Verizon directly? Both get a public IP address? That's probably not possible unless you have multiple public IPs from Verizon.

Thanks so much for the reply, I only have one ip from verizon, I just want the unify to work under pfsense to make it wireless, I guess I just need to get a ap instead of ap build in router -
You can probably use it as an AP even if it doesn't have a specific AP mode. Just connect it on the LAN side where the WIFI is usually just bridged.

@u05040135 It's not wrong to keep it as an AP, connected like I'm guessing you already have it all set up (as stephenw10 suggests).
A separate Unifi AP is at best ~40$ cheaper, but then you still have to run the Controller SW somewhere, on a Raspberry Pi4 perhaps. So unless you already have that HW available it's about the same cost...
And you can keep adding AP's if you need to improve coverage, whilst managing them from the same interface. -

You don't have to run a controller at all, the AP can be configured from a phone app. But there are some features that do require a controller running so most users do.
