      Hi all,
I'm new to Pfsense but I'm looking forward to what I can do with it.
Since upgrading to the netage , my download speeds through the lan are significantly slower than what the line is capable of and what my old router provided.
My previous system involved my vodafone gigabit router in bridged mode connected to an asus RT-AC86U. I would consistently get 1000Mbps down via Lan on this set up.

After setting up the netate connected to the same bridged modem I get max 500Mbps. I'm unsure as to why as I thought the 1100 has capable of higher throughput. I've checked 4 different lan cables whilst testing the 1100. All offer max 500Mbps.
Would love it if anyone had any suggestions as to what I could do to improve things or is this the realistic throughput of the 1100?
      Damien!

500Mbps is about the most you can expect to see through the 1100 unfortunately. It's our lowest powered device.

You would need to use a 4200 to be sure of passing 1Gbps with overhead for packages or VPNs etc.

@DamienS I am really happy with the performance from the 4200 connected to my 1gig service.

@stephenw10 Thanks Stephen. I incorrectly assumed that the spec listed for routing of 927Mbps would have been closer to 1000Mbps and that's why I bought it.
I appreciate you getting back to me.

@WN1X Thanks for that. I'll be looking into all options now.

@DamienS that’s without a firewall. Usually I expect about halfway between the numbers listed:

                L3 Forwarding

                IPERF3 Traffic: 927 Mbps
                IMIX Traffic: 472 Mbps

                Firewall (10k ACLs)

                IPERF3 Traffic: 607 Mbps
                IMIX Traffic: 191 Mbps

The 1100 is one switch with VLANs to separate the ports.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
