Am I at the end of the road for my SG-1100's?

I have 3 SG-1100's for a small volunteer organization. When trying to update to 24.03 from 23.09., 2/3 devices crashed. (I'm hesitant to update the third) Why they crashed no longer matters, as I attempted to do reinstall, which step 1 wipes the devices. (so there is nothing on there except the marvell bootloader)

These are negate devices, i opened a ticket and downloaded the official negate installer. (not the CE version)
      netgate-installer-amd64.img.gz

I've tried multiple times, using both USB ports, different flash drives, tried both rufus and etcher, flashing from windows and macos, flashed the installer both zipped and unzipped, and I keep getting the same error.

      Marvell>> usb reset
      resetting USB...
      USB0: Register 2000104 NbrPorts 2
      Starting the controller
      USB XHCI 1.00
      USB1: USB EHCI 1.00
scanning bus 0 for devices... 2 USB Device(s) found
scanning bus 1 for devices... 1 USB Device(s) found
scanning usb for storage devices... 1 Storage Device(s) found
      Marvell>> run usbrecovery
      switch to partitions #0, OK
      mmc1(part 0) is current device

      MMC erase: dev # 1, block # 0, count 4194304 ... 4194304 blocks erased: OK
      resetting USB...
      USB0: Register 2000104 NbrPorts 2
      Starting the controller
      USB XHCI 1.00
      USB1: USB EHCI 1.00
scanning bus 0 for devices... 2 USB Device(s) found
scanning bus 1 for devices... 1 USB Device(s) found
scanning usb for storage devices... 1 Storage Device(s) found
      ** Unrecognized filesystem type **

is there anything else I can try? can I boot from the USB?

      Appreciate any help..

Which image are you using on the USB drive exactly?

How did you write the image to the drive?

It looks like it can't find the fat32 partition with the bootloader which usually means one of the above is incorrect.

@stephenw10 Thanks for your reply, I used the image downloaded from netgate shopify store. Ive opened two tickets now and downloaded 2 different images, same result. I selected SG-1100 and both 24.05 and 23.09.
the filename was the same for both: (so im guesssing there is no difference)

i was writing the drive with balana etcher. On my windows machine I can see the fat 32 portion. It doesnt show up on macos.

netgate-installer-amd64.img is the filename - was the same filename both times.

it's the same error on two different sg-1000's so I'm kind of at a loss. unless netgate sent me the wrong img from their fileserver ?

Hmm, OK. Yes the installer image is the same for both versions; it can install multiple available versions.

However that's the wrong image, the 1100 is not an amd64 device it's aarch64(arm64). The recover image you should use is: netgate-installer-aarch64.img.gz

            You should see:
