      Hi,
Have a new 4200 arriving today. I have read somewhere here that Netgate support can help converting configurations to new hardware. Is that so and what settings will be migrated? (Specially curious on Certificates and DHCP that we extensively use).
      Thanks!

The entire configuration will be migrated, it is all in the config file. The only things that are not might be any custom loader values you have added. Or maybe your own custom scripts etc.

If you are not using VLANs on the 3100 you can just import the config file tot he 4200 and re-assign the interfaces. But we can also convert the config to be sure it imports without any intervention required.

        Steve

@stephenw10 Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately we are using VLANs so I guess a conversion by you is the recommended path forward. How do I go about this? The 4100 has arrived.

I just migrated from an SG-3100 to an SG-4200 MAX. I had VLANs setup on the SG-3100 (2 VLANs) so I contacted TAC support. Within minutes they emailed me back an updated config.

I have a pretty complex setup with my SG-3100 but the upgrade went smoothly importing the updated configuration file onto the SG-4200. It re-installed packages, etc., plugged everything in and off we went. Smooth sailing. 👍

@Kermee Agreed, it was a very smooth process for me as well.

Migrating from the 3100 on our 250/250 + 5G Internet connections, I find the 4200 waaay over-powered with a CPU load ~3% where-as the 3100 was steadily around 35-40%. The two remote offices still on 3100s will receive 2100s to keep the costs reasonable.
