      Hi,
I want to bridge my existing LAN and OPT1 interfaces so that wired and wireless get on the same subnet. I hook up my laptop to OPT4 and follow the Netgate tutorial Quick but Tricky: Reassign the Bridge as LAN. But when I get to the stage Change the assignment of LAN to bridge0 as I click Save it does not 'stick'. The assignment for LAN reverts to igb0 all the time when I click Save.

      I am running current 24.03 on SG-4860

      ???

@pastic why would you not just plug your AP into your switch that your lan currently plugs into?

Commonly; because there is no switch. Or because you need to filter traffic between the wired and wireless segments even though they are on the same subnet.

Do you see any errors logged when you try to save the bridge as LAN?

Because there is no switch. I wanted to reduce the number of wall warts and devices so I removed it a couple of years ago and have been using the extra ports of the firewall. I've had a simple bridge until now (the kind that does of one cable is pulled) and I wanted to complete the setup by found the extra mile and assign the bridge as LAN.

Indeed. No switch. Thanks for the tip about the logs. Stupid me forgot about them. I'll try again and check tomorrow, because my family needs the WiFi to be up for the rest of the day. 😊

I expect that work. Let us know what you find.
