click on "download" then you see this mysterious shop page!
Lock in your account, then you will see it is free of charge!
You can "buy" it for $0.00 and this is fast done. I got mine
within minutes. And when you open it, the file name includes pfsense+ and BETA2, or similar. I do not like online installers, it should be offline.

You may be free to take the download also from the Netgate FTP
server as well if you want not to use the new installer. -

The link was shown and I downloaded a file with 454 MB.
netgate-installer-amd64.img.gz
When you open the file in an archive manager (I use 7zip), you see and extract the file as pfSense-plus-installer-24.02-BETA2-amd64-20240312-0600.img. Hence the confusion.

Under the link I posted above, you will be able to download the
pfSense CE 2.x image you need or want, but only for you here
are the direct links;Direct download

Yup, I clicked "like" on your post and bookmarked that page as well. Offline installer should always be available, hopefully they will no go away with future versions.

Me too, if the internet is broken or plain not available where you must install
it is the best to take an image and push it onto an usb stick for installation. -

FWIW Netgate has posted they’re going to change the numbering scheme. The installer is beta for a few months now. It offers a choice of versions to install.
