Any chance to get the offline installer back?
-
Hi,
is there any chance to get the offline installer back?
I have no internet without pfSense, so the installation is impossible for me, fairly I must say this happens not so often.

The installer itself loads drivers and you configure Internet within the installer.
That said I can think of several scenarios where an offline installer would be good.

Agree.
My setup loads pfsense in one of several VM with network connections requiring Vlans.Loading an off line image & restoring the configuration works efficiently.
Being forced to manually configure the network to load an image is a retrograde step and a very poor disaster recovery plan. -
@Patch it is frustating.
A lot of distro Linux, Unix handle different ways to install the OS.
Pfsense(Netgate) is closing the door...decision maker...

To get a working internet connection we must create a VLAN7, assignee it and add a PPPoE connection. I wouldn't say this is impossible, but if one character is wrong and the installer try three times to connect my ISP blocks me for some hours...
