Network lights on 2100 ports
-
Yo Netgate,
I got a 2100. Today I anchored it to a wall with its little catches for screws on the bottom plate. Then I went to plug in cables. The lights for the ports are at the bottom of the port (near the plate now on the wall), not the top, so I had a hard time seeing if the port lights came on or not. The cables were in the way, and the lights were hidden by the plugged in cables. It would be nice if the port lights were above the port instead of below it. Harrumph.... Just a design suggestion....

On my 1100, the ports are "upside down", where the lights for the connection are above the cable, and the little clips for the RJ-45 connectors are facing up. Good. I can see the blinky lights and easily detach a cable. With the 2100, the ports are turned the other way. You can't see the lights and can't get to the RJ-45 clip easily when the device is mounted on the wall. Grrrr. Please redesign to turn the ports upside down.
In fact there is no consistency in your products at all. The 4200 has the ports like the 2100. The 6100 and 8200 has the ports like the 1100. Come on...

On most of those devices (except the 1100) the LEDs are closest to the PCB. In the 6100 and 8200 (and 4100) the PCB is above the ports to allow for a larger heatsink below it.
