      I bought a 2100 a couple of months back and I am just now trying to install it. I have tried several different ways to input the username (admin) and password (pfsense) through the GUI many different ways and nothing works, it just says username or password incorrect. Even tried different browsers. I then tried to connect through SSH in the terminal but never connected. I can ping it but I get nothing from a port scan. I thought I would try my hand at usb console but not familiar enough with it to make it work. Is there any way to make this work? I have never been able to log into the device so nothing has been changed and in case you're wondering I bought it directly from netgate. Not sure if I have a $400 brick or not.

        @j2003af lower case correct?

        There is https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/locked-out.html

        What happens when you connect to the console port?
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/netgate-2100/connect-to-console.html

        Or brute force, reinstalling.

        Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          Hmm, weird. You can reset the config on the 2100 using the hardware reset button:

            By default, SSH is not activated. SSH works, but the admin has to set it up first.

            Did you get the most important thing first : DHCP works ? You got an IP, a network /24, a DNS and a gateway from the 2100 ? It should be 192.168.1.x, 255.255.255.0 192.192.168.1.1 192.168.1.1.

            No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
            Edit : and where are the logs ??

              @stephenw10 thanks. Using the rest button worked. Somehow I missed that in the reset instructions. I appreciate the help.
