Hello today i got this error, system was fully working (at least i did not notice any problems) and webui was reachable
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 24576 bytes) in /etc/inc/system.inc on line 3435
pfSense plus on whitebox
24.03-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Wed Apr 24 19:38:00 CEST 2024
FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENTall patches installed
i deleted the error from the webui and rebooted, reboot went fine
no errors since then.
is there anything i should be concerned about?

Something exhausted the PHP memory (512MB). That could be some page that tried to open something huge. Or a command run via the gui command prompt perhaps.

I was getting the same crash for some reason. I increased the php memory limit from System/Advanced/Miscellaneous/PHP Settings.
I have 32GB memory though so I have plenty to spare. -
It's almost always an error if you see that. PHP shouldn't require that much RAM.

Strange, it was doing it middle of the night, no one was using internet or was logged in to the firewall....
No errors sice then, all seems to be good
