Opening port/traffic for one IP on a wan2 connection
-
I have what I thought would be a pretty basic config but not getting it to work.
Goal: Let internet users gain access to device using a domain name mycomputer.xyz.com to the local system 192.168.0.20 on port 7777I have 2 wans. The default Wan 1 is set to auto and lan traffic works on that.
"wan2" is where the domain points to. I have wan 2 added in gateway. Status/Gateways shows a green "Online" for both the gateways.I have gone into Firewall/Rules/LAN and set a fw rule with a "Pass" on IPv4*, Source 192.168.0.20, Port *, Destintion *, Port *, Gateway Wan2. I then moved the rule up above the Lan Subnets allow all rule.
This does not allow access to the device and also I cannot reach the internet from that one device.
I did try Diagnostics/Ping Google from wan1 which worked, but Wan2 did not.
Not sure why I'm getting Online and a little traffic in the dashboard graphs on wan2 but cant even ping.
How do I allow access to that port via wan2?
Thanks
PS I have tried several internet solutions such as virtual ip's etc. I have not tried setting up gateway groups yet. -
Figured it out. A cpl errors

Set static IP for 2nd Wan but also set the Gateway IP the same as the 2nd wan ip. Changed to the correct Gateway IP for the 2nd Wan and was able to connect.

Subnet mask range was incorrect on the device itself 192.168.0.20 was set to 255.255.255.0 when it should have been set to 255.255.0.0
The big thing was the wrong gateway IP. Setting it the same as the 2nd Wan IP is a definite no go situation. Not sure how that slipped by me but if it helps someone else I'll leave it up here.
