I was wondering if anyone has been able to setup their own dyndns server and what exactly are you using?
I would very much like to use the built in pfSense dynamic dns updater to update the now large number of firewalls I have deployed, but I want the dynamic dns server to be on a server of mine and use my own domain. Basically what dyndns.org does, but I want to control my own. Anyone attempted this?

        1. http://freedns.afraid.org/ , add your domain to your control panel.

        2. looks like you want to operate your own own DNS servers BIND9

I had to write my own. There are a few open source implementations that are either broken or do not support the dyndns protocol.

I was wanting to add an updater option in pfSense that would allow dyndns protocol updates to any custom server. I'm not sure if there would be any demand for something like this.
