      Hello pfSense Support Team,

I am writing to request support for the RTL8822CE wireless driver on the current version of pfSense. I have a wireless card with the RTL8822CE chipset, and I have found that a driver is available for this chipset in the latest version of FreeBSD 14. However, this driver does not seem to be available or compatible with the current version of pfSense.

Could you please assist in compiling and providing support for the RTL8822CE driver for the current pfSense release? Having this driver would greatly enhance the functionality of my wireless setup.

      Thank you for your assistance.

      Best regards,

        So the rtw88(4) driver?

It appears that only supports 802.11 a/b/g modes currently. I can't see if it works in hostap mode. How do you plan to use it?

        Steve

          Hello,

At the moment, I need to find a procedure that allows me to install at least one driver to use the 802.11 a/b/g modes.
I have seen the page: https://man.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=rtw88, but I need clarification on the installation procedure for pfSense.

          Best regards,
          Rémi

For 2.7.2? You can extract the module from the 2.7.2 ISO image. The firmware is there too.

It looks like that driver has problems though. I'd be surprised if it works well for you.
