Interface has license all over it
-
I have an old router I was going to upgrade to 2.7.2 but the interface is all messed up. Ultimately I'll probably just backup the config and swap the unit, but can anyone help me figure out what's going on? (Also, The Uptime is in the wrong place?)

Hmm, that's fun*. Did this just happen spontaneously? Any history here?
-
@stephenw10 No history that I know of. It's been fine for years and just logged in to check the version and this is what I found.
-
Hmm, anything logged?
It looks like it's pulling a new page inside each widget instead of just the data it needs. That could be client side. Is it the same in any browser? Different client devices?
-
@stephenw10 Happens on each browser on each machine we check with. System logs appear OP, but there is more of the same text above the Header. Where else should I look?
-
I would just install 2.7.2 and restore the config to be honest. Trying to upgrade from 2.4.4, even when it working correctly, is unlikely to be a fun experience!
You could check the webgui / nginx logs in the /var/log directly.

@stephenw10 I have a few firewalls that are still on these older versions. I'm planning on just swapping them out instead of upgrading them. This just struck me as so odd as it would likely be a file that shouldn't have any reason to be modified. Any chance there is an issue with the config itself? Seems like maybe an issue in the php somewhere to me.

Yeah, I would think it's probably a PHP issue. The most common scenario is that it's pulled in some newer php lib(s) at some point and something isn't compatible. Those older pfSense versions were much more vulnerable to that.
Very unlikely to something in the config. Nothing there could cause that sort of issue.

@stephenw10
That's good news. Just don't want the issue to carry over and get in a bind.
