Fresh installation with Online Network Installer without PPPoE option?
-
Hello all,
in the documentation https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/netgate-6100/reinstall-pfsense.html
there is a sentence "The best practice at this time is to use the Online Network Installer to install pfSense Plus software."I disagree because if you have only PPPoE available this installer will not work.
For example: we have several SG-2100 boxes out there which cannot be updated because the partitions are too small.
We have to reinstall from scratch onsite. There is no possibility to download the normal installer image anymore, only the Online Network installer.
In the past I downloaded the image, prepared an USB stick, installed new, restored the config, finished.
This is not working anymore because I have no direct access to the pfSense+ images anymore.
Is it possible to put the images back into the partner shop?Otherwise we have to open a TAC ticket for each firmware version we need.
Additionally at the moment we cannot open a ticket because the submit button does nothing.
I will send you an email now.Next is, we tried to upgrade a 6100-s with the Online Network installer to 24.03 which hangs on the partitioning step.
Seems to me that the Online Network installer is still beta???
Is it a good idea to remove the regular images if the new installer is still in development and not working as expected?
Is there another download URL which I have overseen?Regards, Ralf

The new beta7 version of the Net Installer does support PPPoE.

The problem with TAC ticket seems to be browser related. With firefox it is not working, with Google Chrome it is. -
On this page? https://www.netgate.com/tac-support-request

Yes -
I can't replicate that in Firefox 127.0.2 from Linux Mint.
What version are you running?
Do you have any plugins blocking anything? adblock? no-script etc?
-
@stephenw10
same version, also Linux Mint
Found it:
I had to add an exception for www.netgate.com into the Firefox enhanced tracking protection because I do not allow 3rd-party cookies in general.
Is there no other way to avoid 3rd-party cookies? -
Not for that hubspot form. I had to add no-script exceptions but it worked fine after that.
