      Hello,

      I'm facing a few problems creating one VLAN, i already saw many tutorials, readed topics in this forum, can't find the reason...

      I wan't to create a VLAN (200) and tag it to one physical port (igc0).
      I've created the VLAN and parent it with physical port:

      Than i create the assigned port in Interface Assignments:

      Configure the static ip and save:

      After that i setup the DHCP Server:

      25febecf-105c-4819-8906-9e278a52e0cb-image.png

      Then i connect the cable directly to computer and don't get ip:

      Thanks in advance
      Regards

        Well you setup a vlan, ie tagged.. Did you setup your computer to understand and use the tag? If not then no it wouldn't get an IP. If you don't have a native network on that interface. And if you did you would get an IP from that network.

        If you want to get an IP from that vlan, your device would have to be setup for that tag (200).. Or you would need to connect that port to a vlan capable switch setup the tag there, and then connect your device to a port on the switch that is in that vlan but not tagged.

          @johnpoz Thanks for your reply.

          In fact i didn't, but i've setup a LAYER 2 switch and connect the port in access with VLAN 200 and i still facing that issue.

          Now i've configured the port without vlan and the DHCP is working.

            Yup that ^.

            It will only respond to DHCP requests tagged VLAN 200.

              Well again - the port connected to pfsense port that is tagging that vlan would have to be setup as trunk (cisco term) where vlans are tagged, and the native vlan is not tagged..

              Just connecting a port in access (not tagged) to that port where your tagging 200 wouldn't work - just like connecting your computer that doesn't understand the tag or use the tag wouldn't
