check_upgrade error after a Proxmox update
-
I recently did an update on the Proxmox instance that runs my pfSense Plus. The underlying Linux update randomly renamed some of my ethernet interfaces, which was more than fun to figure out when nothing came back up properly.
Fast forward to my correcting all of this, and now I get alerts on my pfSense that read:
Upgrade check_upgrade (1): unknown error
I start digging around, and it looks like I'm no longer registered. I'm guessing the NIC remapping somehow freaked out pfSense and unregistered me? I still have my activation code and tried that to no avail, which I've read is because they are apparently one-time use only. I went to the website to try to re-register for homelab, which I now read has been discontinued.
Is the NIC remapping issue the cause of my deregistration? Is there any way to get it back? No other hardware has changed in this box. Does any other hardware modification trigger this? Like if I have Proxmox add/remove RAM, HD storage, or CPU cores?
Thanks for any info you can provide.

Send me your NDI in chat and I'll check it.
It would almost certainly have been the NIC change that caused it.
