      Hello everyone.

I would like to install pfsense on a small embedded device like ALIX 2d3, and i have a concern regarding the performance issues.
Can the little ALIX board handle pfsense + Snort + antivirus scanning (havp or squidclamav) + p2p QOS.  it should handle about 10 PC's on 2 lan interfaces (2 subnets) + wan port output (10Mbps ADSL). Can the ALIX handle this? This is my biggest concern so far.  Does anyone know how big the latency would be?

Can i install the "hard drive install version" on the CF Card?  I would like to use the packages with a CFCard install. How can i do that?

I know i can use ADSL over PPPoE (with a ADSL modem in bridge mode), or am i mistaken?

What other hw boxes do you recommend except ALIX?

      Thank you for your help!

Anyone? How's your experience with Snort and havp on a 10Mb link?

I'm a definite n00b when discussing pfsense, so take this for what it's worth.  From my previous experience with Alix boards, I am not sure that they will have the power to run Snort + HAVP well.  Snort, from what I have heard, would require a bit more power to be truly effective.
