I have 6100 and it recently failed. Similar to how this this post on reddit. I know the post says NEtgate calls for RMA but I still want to investigate.

It happened right after I restarted the device, unknowing that it will not boot back because the boot OS is already corrupted.

I have managed to restore the OS on mmcsd0, All worked like it was new. But I failed to get any information to know any information to help me understand why this happened.

      My question:

      • How can I prevent this from happening again?
      • Is there a way for me to test the boot media’s integrity before doing any restart?
      • I found this link but I’m not so sure if this could help me do pro active checks or even if it’s the purpose of this check. And mine is just /dev/ no other device is showing.
      • I have the logs saved remotely, and I’m checking now if there’s anything I can find. If anyone knows what to look for, please let me know.
      • Would like to know your views on this! Thanks in advance!

You were booting from eMMC? Was it installed ZFS?
