Had to reinstall 24.03 after 24.08 failed for me with the last beta. OK.

No 24.03 installer at hand, reinstalled 23.09 successfully, tried upgrade then. it always stopped after ~60 packages or so .. tried restarting that upgrade, rebooting, lost patience.

      Wrote ticket, pulled installer.

Started it with "run usbrecovery" to start from scratch, chose 24.03.
That installer failed somewhere around the boost-libraries or so, some memory issues. I mean, what ...?

So I reinstalled 23.09 to get online again. A bit frustrated. Help welcome.

What installer image did you use exactly?

Upgrade problems on the 1100 are usually RAM exhaustion related. Be sure to reboot before attempting to upgrade to free any available ram.

@stephenw10 I pulled an installer called netgate-installer-aarch64.img, it was labelled as working for the 1100 in the dropdown menu in shopify.

I retry upgrading 23.09 for hours now again. Stopped all memory-hungry services, rebooted etc

Dashboard says "60% of 958 MiB"

The upgrade starts, proceeds .. writes kernel and bootloader, tells me it will come back after a reboot. And doesn't reboot. And the system stays at 23.09

I didn't have that problem back then, when 24.03 was released.

          thanks for pointers

EDIT: after I triggered the reboot, it completed successfully. Looks good now. thanks

            Good to hear.

Just for reference, if you ever hit that again, the next step would be to run the upgrade from the console. Not having the gui loaded frees some memory and gives more feedback from any errors.

            Hopefully that won't happen! 😉

@stephenw10 I know that recommendation. I did the upgrade from the serial console and it also failed.
