I have a fresh install of pfSense 2.7.2 which stubbornly will not use DNS over TLS. I have followed the instructions from Quad9; no good. I have followed the instructions from the Netgate pages: no good. I have tried various tweaks seen on a variety of other webpages, all to no avail. I have wireguard enabled and running properly but I want to use Quad9 for DNS over TLS. pfBlocker has not been installed. I am a newb and don't understand how to interpret logs or do packet captures but, from what I can tell, DNS queries are going through to Quad9 but on port 53. A DNS Lookup is very slow to return results which appear to be quite good for Quad9's IPv4 servers (30 msec) but quite bad for Unbound (8229 msec). I would appreciate any advise that you could offer. I'll be happy to provide more details of my settings if required. Thank you.
