    Is there any way to assign IP Alias with Range ??

    In "IP Alias" tab there is only Single Address Option, and in "Other" there is Single Address and network, Even on the text label has "Address(es)" but is not allowing multiple addresses or range.
    my end goal is to virtually reserve ranges of IP's on the pfsense device within a specific LAN.
    Any comments appreciated.

      @Bambos
      This assigns IPs to the interface, to respond ARP requests.
      You cannot assign IP ranges here. You'll have to assign each unique IP separately.

        Mmm, but also that assigns the IPs to the firewall it doesn't reserve them for use by something else. If that's what you want.

          @stephenw10 yes, supposedly it will be conflict between the two devices having the same ip. i tried it , and the client couldn't get ip address with dhcp. if the client goes on static ip it might work with disconnections.

          i'm looking for some ways to further secure the LAN on layer 2.

            If you want to make sure a client always gets a specific IP, then that would be setup in a dhcp reservation.. You can then create an ALIAS with that IP or list of IPs/Network using cidr that includes all of those IPs you would be handing out to create different firewall rules.

            Your not in the alias section, your in the VIP section where there is a type of vip called IP Alias.. The different types of vips can be used for different reasons.
